| 2022-23 | After decades of support from our facility, Australian researchers are taking the final steps to become the first in the world to extract pancreatic islet cells from genetically modified species and transplant them into human patients. We have animals surviving more than two years after transplantation, with no hyperacute rejection, no other critical rejections, and with cured diabetes in that pre-clinical model. |
